San Juan Trip 2008 - Patos and Sucia Islands
This year I had a chance to go out to the San Juan Islands with my buddy Chris - It was his first time out to the islands. He actually got his kayak this year. It is always great to experience the islands with someone new. I did have a different experience this year in the sense that we started off with the intent to go to Sucia Island,but it was full of campers. There are many group adventures that go to this island during this time of year. Well, we continued on to Patos and made camp. The second day we toured around Patos and took an 11 pm paddle to see the water light up with phosphorescence. This is pretty amazing to see. We had a fairly full moon and could still see (in the correct angles) the wake, paddle strokes, and splashed water light up. Here are some photos and quick movie. Enjoy.
